Ashok Leyland to set up a new LCV plant in Tamil Nadu

Ashok Leyland is planning to set up a new greenfield manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu to manufacture light commercial vehicles. This segment is bucking the trend against the slow down. The new unit will entail and investment of Rs. 24,000 million. The company also plans to launch a passenger vehicle based on Dost variant.

Ashok Leyland to set up a new facility at Pillaipakkam

Ashok Leyland is planning to set up a green field facility in Pillaipakkam near Sriperumbudur with an investment of Rs. 41500 million. It will produce light commercial vehicles in joint venture with Nissan. Currently, the company as 17% market share in the segment is planning to launch 2 more products. The new facility will have a capacity to produce 50 units per day.

Ashok Leyland Gummidipoondi plant for backhoe loaders will be ready by January 2011

Ashok Leyland which is gearing up to become a full range player is investing in Hosur plant and in a greenfield facility in Gummidipoondi near Chennai in Tamil Nadu. The new unit will manufacture back hoe loaders from January 2011 and its Nissan joint-venture will also start producing from mid 2011.
