Lohia Industries to launch new electric two wheeler OMA Star

Lohia Industries has OMA Star , electric two wheeler with new digital speedometer, large storage capacity, stylish alloy wheels, telescopic suspension, and high ground clearance. It will be available in 3 colors – Fiery Red, Macho Black and Spirited Silver. It is priced at Rs.25999/- ex-showroom price –Delhi and Rs.35000/- ex showroom price for the rest of India. The electric vehicle will have a top speed of 25 km/hr and have a range of 60 hour.

BSA Motors launches 5 models of electric scooters

BSA Motors, a business unit of Tube Investments (Murugappa Group) had launched 5 models of electric scooters Smile, Diva, Street Rider, Roamer and Roamer Plus in the state of Orissa. Currently, the markets for electric scooters is estimated at Rs.4000 million and is growing at 100%. Of the models, 3 are basic models of 250 Watts and one in 500 Watt and another in 800 Watts. The scooters are available in 4 colors with the exception of Diva.

Mahindra & Mahindra to launch electric two wheelers

Mahindra & Mahindra, which acquired Kinetic Motors in June 2008 is planning to launch electric two wheelers in the range of 250 to 1000 watts. Currently, Indian electric two wheeler markets is estimated at 0.1 million units a year, with players like Hero Electric, Electrotherm and Ultramotors. The company has launched two new scooter Mahindra Rodeo and Mahindra Duro costing Rs 41,299 and Rs 38,299 (ex-showroom Pune) and also sells Flyte originally launched by Kinetic now sporting Mahindra badge. It seems electric vehicles may be launched by next year.
