Mahindra launches HyAlfa - a hydrogen based three wheeler vehicle

Mahindra had launched a hydrogen powered three wheeler in New Delhi. It is christened as HyAlfa and has manufactured 15 vehicles as pilot project and a refuelling station had been set up at Pragati Maidan in Delhi by US based Air Products. The project development cost is estimated at USD 1 million over a period of 3 years and 50 % of the cost have been funded by UNIDO and International Centre for Hydrogen Energy Technologies.

Mahindra & Mahindra to produce Korando C and Rexton from Chakan

Mahinda & Mahindra is planning to produce Ssangyong sports utility vehicles in its Chakan manufacturing facility in Pune. It plans to add a new assembly line where it will likely to produce Kornado C and Rexton. The total manufacturing capacity of Chakan plant is around 300,000 units and M&M is likely to invest Rs.50,000 million over a period of time. It will also produce Navstart Truck here.

Mahindra & Mahindra launches Earthmaster backhoe loader

Mahindra & Mahindra has ventured into the construction equipment business by launching its own product Earthmaser, which had been developed by its own research & development. It will manufacture this backhoe loader at its Chakan plant in Maharashtra. The new equipment had been tested for over 20000 hours and the company expects to garner a slice in the world largest backhoe market, which is estimated at 25000 units a year. The product also comes under a 2 year warranty to support initial sales.

Mahindra Logan renamed as Verito

Mahindra Logan, renamed as Verito after the company has bought the 49% share from its partner Renault for an undisclosed sum. However, Renault will support the model through a license agreement to supply key components including the engine and transmission systems. It may be noted, the joint venture was formed between Mahindra and Renault a French auto major in 2005, but the car has not met the expectations. Now, Verito as it is called will sport the Mahindra badge is likely to be repositioned as a rugged and honest vehicle.
