Maruti Suzuki India is setting up a new manufacturing facility in Hansalpur in Gujarat with an investment of Rs. 40,000 million. The company had signed an MoU with the state government and a state support agreement for the project. The new facility is 300 kms near the Mundra port which can be used as gateway into South India and export markets. The company has already a pre- inspection facility at Mundra for exports. The first phase will have a capacity of 2.5 lakh units per annum and can be ramped upto 7.5 lakh units in two phases. The project will go operational by 2015-16
Maruti to roll out Swift special million edition which is to be priced at Rs.4.83 lakh and will have around 1000 nos to be produced. It will feature a goldsmith black color and will have integrated speakers with USB, leather seats, cushions and an artistic decal on exteriors. It will display a sporty character. Much of it is designed by Indian engineers R&D and will also demonstrate the capability of our team. It may be noted that, Maruti has recently launched Ritz special edition
Maruti Suzuki is launching a new special anniversary edition of Ritz. It will be priced Rs.17000 more and the diesel Vdi variant is priced at Rs.5.31 lakh while the petrol version is priced at Rs.4.52 lakh. It is available in signature blue emerald color with a dual tone dashboard, body graphics, keyless entry and tilt steering. Maruti Suzuki is looking at this opportunity to bring more foot falls in their showrooms and for gauging consumer responses to take feedback for future product development and design.
Maruti launches CNG variants of engines in all of its popular models including Alto, mid sized Sedan SX4, new entrant Eeco, besides WagonR and Estillo in Gujarat, Delhi and Mumbai. These vehicles will be priced Rs.50K etc compared to normal petrol engines. Maruti has become the first fully integrated CNG based technology vehicles.
